Full disclosure: these are not a health food. They have some things in them that make them a tiny bit more wholesome and nutrient rich than a regular cookie. But they are a sugary treat. I’m all for the belief that if you want a cookie, dessert of any kind, or whatever so called bad food you’re craving, then have it. Just make it yourself.
Meal Plans Week 74
I’m going to ban myself from talking about the weather at the start of these posts. Have I already failed by announcing that? Oh well, from here on out anyway! This week I’m feeling seafood and greens. I’m going a little lighter on the noodles as I really got obsessed last week! Not abandoning them completely thoguh because I am who I am.
Saffron, Leek and Scallop Risotto
I’ve been dreaming about this risotto for weeks, since the start of scallop season. Saffron, leeks and scallops are such a perfect combination especially when hit with a good dose of fresh lemon. I added the leek and celery to up the vegetable in take without compromising on flavour.
Broccoli, Kale and Walnut Chopped Salad
This easy winter salad can be served warm or cold and is the perfect side to hearty winter dishes like, stews, pasta bakes and pies. It’s full of fragrant spices and the freshness of lemon and chilli and is everything I want and need to eat right now.
Meal Plans Week 73
Happy Sunday! I hope you’ve all had a glorious week. I’m writing this from Daylesofrd and it’s so picturesque, there’s a fire going and birds singing (when the rain gives them a break). I’m here this weekend cooking at the Essential Being Retreat, we had choc mint bliss balls and a chunky vegetable soup with extra virgin olive oil drizzled sourdough. So much yum.
How to Simplify Your Life: 5 Winter Curries to Batch Cook
These 5 recipes freeze well so you can batch cook 2 of them on the weekend and freeze half your portions for the following week and have different lunches on alternate days for the week. There’s a mix of flavours at play here and all the curries are made from scratch with minimal effort.
Ponzu Prawn Black Rice Poke Bowls
Poke bowls might seem like a summery option but by adding warm cooked prawns you cut down on that summery vibe just a little. The black rice adds a seriously nutty vibe to these bowls that are topped with my favourite poke toppings.
Cauliflower and Thyme Carbonara
I’m totally aware that I did another cauliflower recipe very recently, but I love cauliflower and when I’m testing recipes I tend to test recipes with similar ingredients at the same time, that way there’s less food waste and you know I’m all about that. So we have another delicious cauliflower recipe!
Meal Plans Week 73
Wow this week has been an amazing blur thus the slight delay in the Meal Plans post! This week I catered a wedding for the first time with my amazing friend Georgia from byharveyharvey and it was such a wonderful if hectic week! But the meal plans have arrived and they’re GOOD!
Winter Salmon Nicoise Salad
You know how I love to call something a recognisable name (Nicoise) but it’s not actually exactly traditional. That’s what’s going on here. I’m not even sorry because this version is delightful.
