I’ve been trying to get some sort of routine together to ease the feeling of monotony and it’s mostly centered around daily cooking adventures, which is hardly surprising! These experiments are slowly making their way to the blog for you.
The other thing that is helping ease that mundane feeling is using the darker evenings to eat dinner without photographing it. This is also the perfect opportunity for me to actually make other people’s recipes. This week I tried and LOVED the following:
This char siu pork, we had it with clean out the fridge fried rice.
Sourdough discard crackers, I’ve made these twice to experiment with flavours!
Now for some ideas for you:
Breakfast
If you make tacos for lunch one day then these breakfast tacos are a great thing to do with any leftover tortillas, I’ve made them with mushrooms instead of eggs for a vegan version.
It’s getting cooler and that means porridge, this rose water and cinnamon one is a fabulous break from the usual combinations!
Lunch
Cumin Spiced Crispy Mushroom Bowls, endless variations on these are my lunch vibe.
Chipotle and Parmesan Carrot Tacos, you can use nutritional yeast instead of Parmesan if you want to keep this dairy free/vegan.
Dinner
Snapper, Leek and Broccolini Orecchiette this light and flavoursome pasta can be made with any white fish.
Vegetarian Khoa Soi Style Noodle Soup, you can use any quick cook vegetables you have in this soup!
Rainbow Chard and Ricotta Tart, you can use silverbeet or regular chard it just won’t look as delightful. This is also an easy olive oil pastry if you want to start experimenting with making pastry!
Crispy Chicken Burgers to make the weekend actually feel like the weekend!
Dessert
I’m obsessed with this blondie/ oaty slice right now. It’s incredibly delicious!
