It’s super grain time! Good old quinoa has been the gluten free, high protein grain of choice for years now and there’s so many reasons why. And the easy of pronouncing it is not one of them. It’s tasty, versatile and filling. If you’re like me you often cook too much when you make quinoa so read on for some very delicious ways to use this seed!
And no this is not going to be 7 different quinoa salads! I’ve included a few different uses for it as I know I don’t want to eat quinoa salads for days on end;) We’d need to call that post 7 ways with quinoa salads… I probably have that many quinoa salad recipes on this blog actually! But no, not what I’m doing today, this is all about variety!
It’s a popular grain in vegetarian recipes too as it’s one of few plant foods that contains all 9 essential amino acids – win!
Here we go:
Cauliflower Soup with Parmesan Quinoa Crisps, these crisps can be used to top any soup and are a great way to use up a little leftover quinoa.
Green Quinoa with Crispy Skinned Salmon and Herbed Yoghurt Sauce, there is obviously going to be a couple of salady things in her. I just said that it wouldn’t be 7 of them! This one is a real winner, the quinoa is flecked with zucchini and herbs YUM.
Meatballs with Cauliflower Puree, you can make these meatballs gluten free by using quinoa instead of breadcrumbs. Makes for a super light meatball.
Quinoa Tabbouleh Salad – a wheat free tabbouleh that’s super satisfying thanks to it’s fibre and protein content.
Gluten free Quinoa Pancakes, the quinoa makes for light fluffy pancakes.
Ultimate Rainbow Buddha Bowl, quinoa is a great base for any ‘bowl’ you’re making, you can keep it vegetarian thanks to those handy amino acids and still satisfy your bodies needs.
Root Vegetable Fritters with Avocado and Pickled Radish Salsa, I used quinoa in these fritters to help bind while keeping them light and also to increase the protein content.
