Meal Plans Week 59

I’m writing this while drinking a hot toddy because the weather has been monumentally miserable today. But it looks like it’s about to come right just in time for me to venture out for the evening and pretend to have an exciting social life… but first it’s meal plan time.

I seem to also use this time to talk about what I’ve been up to for the week/obsessed with. This week I was lucky enough to visit Vue De Monde for the first time EVER with my darling friend Kel. It was my ideal date and ended in the most satisfying way I can think of… me cradling a mini loaf of brioche in the back of cab. Hot. The meal was also amazing, really interesting food and such a well though out journey. The smokey barbecued vegetables to start were nicely bookended by a camp fire at the table for dessert, little marshmallow covered bomb Alaska bites were toasted in front of us. There was also the perfect chocolate souffle and a third dessert course that we cancelled because we couldn’t face more food… I know, I’m sorry. But my favourite course was the wild duck breast with a glass like crispy honey glazed skin. It was so beautiful and delicate yet robust in flavour.

I also had a beautiful dinner at Il Solito Posto and feasted on mussels in a wine spiked tomato broth, hand made pasta and chocolate fondant. It was a dream.

This week is going to consist of much more time spent eating at home so let’s get to those meal plans shall we?

Plan A

Day 1: Cauliflower, Cavalo Nero and Goats Cheese Gnocchi, the gnocchi of your dreams, well my dreams but close enough.

Day 2: Chicken and Mushroom Larb Salad Lettuce cups, a light and delicious late summer dinner. okay it’s technically Autumn but it’s Australia so it’s basically summer.

Day 3: Prawn and Pumpkin Yellow Curry: this curry can be made from scratch in 45 minutes!

Day 4: Salmon Soba Bowl, a good soba bowl solves all of life’s problems.

Day 5: Hangover Noodles, or Friday night noodles

Plan B

Day 1: Miso and Ginger Tofu Curry, still one of my all time favourite curries.

Day 2: Easy Sweet Potato Buddha Bowls, these are great to meal prep for lunches

Day 3: Cauliflower, Cavalo Nero and Goats Cheese Gnocchi Doing hump day right.

Day 4: Soy Braised Shiitake Mushrooms with Broccolini Such a simple, easy meal

Day 5: Cauliflower and Hummus Pita Pockets, what better way to end the week?

And start your days with this Sweet Potato Brownie Smoothie Bowl this week!
