This smoothie is both tasty and pretty. And full of the good stuff of course! You can use your preferred milk but almond or oat would both be delicious choices. The marbled effect is easy to do and makes for a pretty finish. We eat with our eyes first and I find the nice my food looks the more mindful I am when eating it.
I had a friend say to me, you can’t make food look good all the time. I kind of disagree, you can do that but sometimes you can’t be bothered – and that’s fine! However, if making your food looks good makes you care more about what you are putting in your body, take time to be mindful about what you’re eating and enjoy it then there is nothing wrong with that!
This makes for a great breakfast or a very filling snack. I don’t think it needs any sweetener added as the banana does that part for you!
Ingredients
1.5 frozen bananas
1 cup milk of choice
1/4 cup oats
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
1 Tbs peanut butter (optional)
1 Tbs raw cacao
Directions
Put all ingredients, excluding cacao, into a blender and blend until smooth. Pour half the mixture into a glass then add the cacao to the rest of the mixture and blend some more. Pour the rest of the mix right into the centre of your smoothie. Take a straw and swirl gently around the sides of your glass to create the marbled effect and enjoy!
