I think everyone might have their own green smoothie recipe by now… and I’m sure you love your go to but I wanted to share mine. It doesn’t taste grassy or like kale at all but it’s full of it. I also love that vibrant green colour it goes – you just feel like your drinking health haha. And you are, this one has tons of vitamins and minerals, essential fats and fibre. Most importantly this tastes delicious.
My talented friend Elyse came over and took the pictures for this recipe for me… and a few more to follow. The quality of these makes me want to do 1 of two things:
1. get myself a proper camera and/ or lighting equipment
2. make Elyse come over every time I cook so she can take the photos… because my talents really lie more with the cooking and eating part!
I want to do number 2 more but Elyse apparently has her own life and like shit to do so I might have to a little from option 1 mixed in with option 2.
I also realised something else. I am so awkward in front of a camera! I either can’t stop giggling or I just get like this weird creepy smile going on. Super cringe worthy. Lucky Elyse is good at what she does or there would have just been tons of crazy eye shots of me.
Enough about my modelling (or lack there of) skills. On to the recipe.
Serves 2
Ingredients
1 frozen banana
2 kiwis, peeled
1 Tbs Chia
1 Tbs psyllium husk
1 cup coconut milk
1/2 cup plain yoghurt (use coconut to keep it dairy free)
2 cups kale, stalk removed (or spinach!)
Directions
Place all ingredients in a blender in chunks. Blend until smooth, add more kale to brighten the colour if so desired. Add a little water if too thick. Pour into a glass and enjoy.
