BANANA BREAD OATS

I have been eating porridge most mornings lately. This is super unusual for me, not because I don’t like porridge, I’m all about it, but because I just don’t eat the same thing multiple mornings in a row. I’ve been changing it up a little bit in terms of porridge flavourings but this is the one that’s been on highest rotation. It’s oats, but it tastes like banana bread so what’s not to like?!

It’s a weird time of year in Melbourne. We’re oscillating between smoothie and cold drink weather and warm porridge weather. Sort of typical Melbourne really. This porridge straddles that fence nicely. Strawberries are abundant at the moment as the weather heats up around the country and they are so delicious teamed with the vanilla scented creaminess of this porridge.

LEMON DELICIOUS PORRIDGE

Processed with VSCOcam with a6 preset It’s getting cold in Melbourne and the crisp mornings have me craving porridge, and I’m trying to mix up my combinations as much as possible. This is a dreamy dessert like porridge. It’s reminiscent of a lemon delicious pudding or a lemon tart with the combination of creamy vanilla scented oats, tart lemon curd (without cream or butter) and toasted almond crumb. But it makes a much more nutritious breakfast than either of those options, thanks to the oats and added nuts!
