This smoothie bowl is full of protein and fibre to keep you feeling full. Plus it has that whole chocolate drizzle thing going on to make things extra special. It’s the perfect post work out food for me and you’re going to love it.
It’s quick and easy to make and that chocolate drizzle is totally optional. But totally amazing. You really should do it. Smoothie bowls might look stupid, but that’s only until you tru them and realise that they’re delicious. Like a big bowl of soft serve or frozen yoghurt with your favourite toppings. And on that note feel free to add granola or muesli to the top of this or anything else you like. You’re the one eating it so make it how you like!
Frozen bananas work best in this as they make the smoothie thicker, you want a little body if you’re just going to eat it with spoon otherwise you may as well put it in a glass and drink it. If you would prefer that… do it, just drizzle the chocolate on the top or around the sides of the glass. Inside. Inside the glass. You don’t want chocolate covered hands when you’re trying to drink it. Or do you????
1/2 frozen banana
2/3 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1/3 cup yoghurt, plain greek style (or coconut for dairy free)
1/3 cup oats
1/4 dup desiccated coconut
1/4-1/2 cup milk of choice or water (coconut tastes delicious)
1 tsp cacao powder
1/2 tsp maple syrup
2 fresh strawberries finely slices
1 Tbs toasted coconut flakes
1/4 fresh banana (freeze the rest!)
Place all smoothie ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and creamy.
Combine cacao, maple syrup and a little hot water (1 tsp to start). Stir until smooth and add more hot water until it’s thick enough to coat the back of a spoon but drizzilable (not a word, I know).
Drizzle sauce over the smoothie in a zig zag motion. op with fresh fruit and coconut and any othe toppings. Dig in.
