CHOCOLATE DESSERTS YOU CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT.

CHOC PEANUT BUTTER SKILLET COOKIE 9

Some nights you just don’t feel finished with your meal unless you have dessert right? These chocolate laced options will have your sweet tooth feeling as satisfied as your body.

I’m a chocolate loving kind of girl. Always have been. And I’m probably never going to stop eating it. WHY did I even write probably? I can commit to chocolate, I can. I’m NEVER going to stop eating it. So I’m always coming up with ways to still have my favourite chocolate based desserts and sweets but in healthy ways. And when I say healthy I basically mean more nutrients, less sugar, more whole food ingredients. Thus I might use oats and besan flour in place of white flour and use fruit to sweeten – easy changes like that. I find if I make my sweet treats a little higher in protein they’re more filling and I don’t need to eat as much… operative word being ‘need’ haha.

Making something yourself is also great because you know what’s in it and you actually have to make the effort to create it, thus it might make you pause before grabbing dessert. That said some of these are stupid easy and some you can have waiting for you in the freezer… but still, you made it at some stage!

  1.  Salted Tahini Caramel, Roasted Almond and Chocolate Nicecream. I could write this post without at least one ‘nice cream’ recipe. So quick and easy to do and by having it with tahini you’re getting some calcium in there too. (gluten free + vegan!)Chocolate, Salted Caramel and roast Almond Icecream 5
  2. Self Saucing Chocolate pudding. Is there anything better? This whole foods version is full of goodness.IMG_2520
  3. Choc coconut nougat bites. A summer roll, but healthier! (Note to the Americans: a summer roll is a chocolate bar filled with almond nougat covered in chocolate and rolled in coconut). (gluten free + Vegan!)
  4. Choc-Mint Cookies. This is another one you can make ahead and have in the freezer. Just like a Mint slice but full of extra protein and way lower in sugar. (gluten free + vegan)Choc mint cookies
